Moscow Domodedovo Airport participated in the main international air cargo exhibition and forum, Air Cargo Forum and Exposition 2012, held in Atlanta (USA). The Domodedovo stand at the Forum gave visitors an insight into the development of the fast-growing air cargo market, in Russia cargo traffic has grown by nearly 70% in seven years from 2005 through 2011. Domodedovo considers this line of business a core priority one and, as the largest Russian air port, handles 35% of all cargo traffic accounting for the Moscow air transport hub, which in turn represents 65% of all air cargo in Russia.Domodedovo offers the broadest route network in Russia, including domestic flights, which enables the best-possible range of connections for transit cargo. Partner airlines currently serve 83 transit cargo routes via the airport using spacious, wide-body aircrafts. Another major cargo service was added on October 10, 2012, when Polet Airline resumed charter operations to the Far East using a wide-body, long-haul Il-96-400T   >>>

The ceremony of laying the foundation stone of a new cargo village took place earlier today at Ekaterinburg International Airport. The event was attended, among others, by Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin, Sverdlovsk Oblast Governor Alexander Misharin, and Ekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport General Director Evgeniy Chudnovskiy. About 17 000 square metres are due for completion within Phase One of the construction in December 2011; these are planned for the cargo terminal, offices of the airport’s Cargo Division, Koltsovo Customs and the Checkpoint Koltsovo-Ekaterinburg. Another 22 000 square metres of buildings and structures will be constructed in 2018–22. The investment volume of Phase 1 will amount to approx. 900 million rubles; Phase 2, 800 million rubles.  >>>
