Air Berlin: topbonus frequent flyer programme comes out on top in worldwide comparison
topbonus, Air Berlin?s frequent flyer programme, is among the world?s leading loyalty marketing schemes. That was the conclusion reached by the renowned US consulting organisation, IdeaWorks Company, based on an analysis of 6,160 booking queries at the websites of 22 frequent flyer programmes during February and March 2010. The research assessed reward seat availability which, according to IdeaWorks, is a key measurement for customer satisfaction when it comes to frequent flyer programmes. With a reward flight availability of 98.6 per cent, Air Berlin is the European leader and second in global rankings. Air Berlin?s fellow contenders included 21 of the world's major airlines, such as Lufthansa, British Airways, Air France/KLM and United Airlines.
Johannes Ganser, Director Customer Loyalty & Cooperations Air Berlin, commented on this rating: "The result shows that topbonus guarantees a high level of customer satisfaction. This encompasses not only outstanding reward flight availability, but also great flexibility and the opportunity of obtaining a reward flight for just 3,000 miles. In addition, miles can be redeemed on all routes worldwide, both for Business Class and Economy Class flights, without passengers having to pay a single euro in taxes and charges ? so these really are free flights."
topbonus members also enjoy other programme benefits. The topbonus companion ticket, for instance, allows a second person to fly at 50 per cent of the required miles. With "My Route", status customers can collect double award miles on their designated favourite route within Europe.
Air Berlin?s topbonus program is free to join and new members can register at airberlin.com/topbonus.
