UTair receives delivery of two Boeing 737-800

UTair Aviation has received another two mid-range next generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft from the Boeing facility in Seattle. The aircraft, configured with the new Sky Interior, come on schedule as part of 10 such aircraft expected this year. The number of Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft in the UTair fleet now totals seven, four with Sky Interior modifications. UTair expects to have the remaining 737-800 NGs in its fleet by the end of the year.

In June 2011 UTair became the first operator of this aircraft modification in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe. The new 737-800 NG airliner features a comfortable cabin with a special hand luggage compartment design that offers greater capacity along with better noise insulation and a number of other improvements.

The Sky Interior modification in the Boeing 737-800 aircraft will enable UTair to offer better passenger service and to significantly improve operational cost parameters, especially fuel savings, as well as improved environmental performance parameters. With the launch of operations with the new Boeing 737-800, UTair Aviation will continue its network development and increase the frequency of flights to established destinations. The new Boeing aircraft are used on flights connecting Moscow and Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Sochi, Krasnodar, Dushanbe and Anapa. Future plans for the aircraft include operations on routes from Vnukovo to Novosibirsk, Noyabrsk, Surgut, Kaliningrad, Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Gyumri.

This summer UTair aircraft will make more than 300 passenger flights per day. According to UTair Aviation operational objectives, the airline will transport more than 7 million passengers in 2011 operating more than 100 aircraft, including Boeing 757-200, Tupolev Tu-154M, Boeing 737-400m Boeing 737-500, ATR 72, Bombardier CRJ 200, and ATR 42.
