Charter partnership: airberlin Turkey starts on 1st November 2011

Winter flight schedule includes flights to Antalya from up to 14 German citiesSummer schedule being planned ? more airports will be added
On 1st November 2011, airberlin Turkey will begin operating flights between Antalya and Germany. With the start of the winter flight schedule, airberlin and the Turkish airline company Pegasus will embark on a charter partnership and dedicate two Boeings of the type 737-800 to transporting holiday makers from Germany to Antalya. The airplanes carry their own logo, featuring the word "Turkey" in cursive above the airberlin script.

After holidaying in Turkey, the first passengers flying airberlin Turkey will take off from Antalya and land in Stuttgart on the morning of 1st November 2011. Additional airports for the charter flights include Bremen, Dќsseldorf, Frankfurt, Leipzig/Halle, Nuremberg and Paderborn. Overall, over the winter months, airberlin Turkey will transport vacationers from up to 14 German cities to the Turkish Riviera, up to 31 times a week.

As Detlef Altmann, airberlin's Director of Tourism Marketing, stated: "With airberlin Turkey, we are bringing a product to market that positions us very strongly on the Turkish tourism market. Furthermore, with airberlin Turkey, we are now, for the first time, including flights to Turkey in our winter flight schedule.? Mr. Altmann added: "airberlin Turkey will continue to fly in the coming summer. We are planning to operate up to six airplanes by then."

?Pegasus and airberlin are taking another important step towards a deeper cooperation after the code share flights started in September. We will join our forces on Antalya - Germany market and thus this synergy will enable us to increase both the destinations flown and the flight frequencies on this market, providing more alternatives to our customers and at the same time contributing to the tourism traffic between Turkey and Germany?, said Guliz Ozturk, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing of Pegasus.

The additional airports from which airberlin Turkey will be taking off are Berlin, Dresden, Cologne/Bonn, Mќnster/Osnabrќck, Hanover, Hamburg and Munich. The summer schedule for 2012 is currently in planning. Further additional airports - such as Erfurt - will be included. The on-board service as well as the interior design of the fleet will not differ from that of airberlin. Seats are primarily sold via tour operators, only a few seats will be available for individual booking. In addition to the charter partnership, airberlin and Pegasus have been in a marketing and distribution partnership since 2009. Both airlines have been operating codeshare flights on selected routes since September 2011.
