airberlin technik: Tobias Hundhausen appointed Senior Vice President Production as well as Accountable Manager
Tobias Hundhausen has been appointed as Senior Vice President Production of airberlin technik GmbH with effect from 1st November 2011. Furthermore, Tobias Hundhausen also assumes the duties of Accountable Manager.
In this double capacity Tobias Hundhausen reports to the directorate of airberlin technik. His responsibilities include Line and Base Maintenance, Workshops and Technical Sales.
Tobias Hundhausen has been employed by airberlin technik since February 2010. As Vice President Business Development he was responsible for projects such as the merger of the technical operations of airberlin in the spring of 2011 and the "787 Launch-into-Service Project". Previously he had gained extensive experience working for companies such as international consultants Roland Berger, Lufthansa Cargo AG and Deutsche Lufthansa AG, particularly in the areas of process optimisation, post-merger integration and business development.
airberlin technik GmbH (abt) is the aviation technology division within the airberlin group and the main provider of MRO services for the group?s aircraft. The company has around 1,800 employees at 16 locations throughout Germany and in other countries and provides almost all technical aviation services. Its customers include not only the airberlin group, but also a steadily growing number of major German and international airlines. The company operates under licence from the LBA (German Federal Aviation Office) and has received EASA Part 145 certification. The most recent milestone in the company?s history is the merger of AB aviation technology operations under the umbrella of airberlin technik GmbH on 1st April 2011. Construction work on a new mainte-nance hangar on the site of the future BER airport began on 21st March 2011. Two thirds of this facility will be utilised by airberlin and one third by Germania. The hangar, covering an area of more than 12,000 m2, will be completed by the time that BER opens on 3rd June 2012.
