Cost Rate of Duty Free Goods Imported by Air Increased up to 10,000 Euros
Since October 19, 2011, passengers arriving at Domodedovo Airport can import duty-free goods weighing not more than 50 kg with the total cost of no more than 10,000 Euros in accompanied and unaccompanied baggage (excluding alcohol, tobacco and indivisible goods). Previously, this cost limit was 1,500 Euros.
The reason for the changes was the decision of the EurAsEC Interstate Council No. 95 dated 10/19/11, the Protocol Amending the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation, Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 06/18/2010 "Procedure of Transporting Goods for Personal Use by Individuals through Customs Border of the Customs Union and Customs Operations Relating to Their Release”.
The increase in the duty-free rate was only for goods imported by air, as for other modes of transport - sea, road, rail – the rates there have not changed.
