airberlin: More passengers and increased capacity utilization in June

In June 2011, the number of passengers flying airberlin increased by 4.0 percent to 3,471,923 (2010: 3,337,061 passengers). Fleet capacity utilization for June increased from 75.0 to 80.1 percent, i.e. an increase of 5.1 percentage points. In comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year, fleet capacity was reduced by 2.5 percent.

For the period from January to June 2011, a total of 16,423,166 passengers traveled on airberlin's flight route network, i.e. 5.8 percent more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Fleet capacity utilization for the first six months of the year increased from 72.3 to 75.3 percent, i.e. by 3.0 percentage points. airberlin's accumulated fleet capacity showed an increase of 1.5 percent.

Start of the summer holidays in Dќsseldorf: airberlin offers extensive choice of flights

This weekend is when schools break up in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. airberlin is expecting around 75,000 passengers at Dќsseldorf airport alone. With a choice of about 500 flights, Germany?s second largest airline is ready to cater for the start of the summer holidays. Friday is always the busiest day of the week during the holiday period.airberlin had already increased its choice of flights to 80 non-stop destinations in the spring, ready for the summer schedule. airberlin and American Airlines further expand codeshare agreement

airberlin and American Airlines have expanded their codeshare relationship to include selected flights within the domestic U.S. route network. Passengers can now book additional flight connections from New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. Under this extended agreement, airberlin passengers can now enjoy connecting flights from New York to the additional destinations Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis. Offering additional destinations Key West and Jacksonville as connecting flights from Miami, Germany's second largest airline now flies to a total of six destinations in Florida (the two new destinations joining existing destinations Miami, Fort Myers, Orlando, and Tampa), meaning that airberlin is truly establishing itself as a Florida carrier. Paul Gregorowitsch strengthens airberlin?s Executive Board

airberlin?s Board has appointed the President and CEO of the Dutch airline Martinair, Paul Gregorowitsch, 55, as a new member of the Executive Board. From September 2011 Gregorowitsch will be taking over as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), responsible for network and sales. This makes him the fourth member of airberlin?s Executive Board, alongside Joachim Hunold (CEO), Ulf Hќttmeyer (CFO) and Christoph Debus (COO).On completing his business management studies at the Institute for Tourism at Breda, the Dutchman began his professional career at KLM in 1980. 9,000 flight connections per week: Transit connections at airberlin's Berlin hub hit new record high

One year prior to the opening of the new Berlin airport, Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt (BER), airberlin's hub has already scored top marks. In the summer of 2011, airberlin is offering its passengers in the German capital 9,000 flight connections per week, more connections than ever before. Since May 2010, airberlin has been continuously expanding the hub, and was already offering approximately 6,000 flight connections last summer. The hub structure is based on six daily waves of traffic coming from the East, West, North and South. During these peak times, up to 24 airberlin flights arrive from within Germany and Europe, as well as from intercontinental locations. In future, airberlin and Iberia are offering selected flights under joint flight numbers. The codeshare agreement comes into effect today and applies to flights starting today. The connection possibilities from and to Madrid will improve for airberlin passengers as a result of the agreement. In addition to the airberlin flights to Madrid, passengers can also book non-stop Iberia flights leaving from Berlin-Tegel, Dќsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich as well as Geneva to the Spanish capital effective today. The airberlin group is expanding its junior management scheme and is therefore offering interested engineering and business science as well as aeronautics graduates (with a bachelor?s or master?s degree or a diploma) an 18-month trainee programme.airberlin technik GmbH, the aircraft maintenance section of the airberlin group, is looking for trainees to start on 1 October 2011 at its sites in Berlin and Dќsseldorf . airberlin to fly to Curaчao from November

airberlin is to add the Caribbean island of Curaчao to its flight plan for the coming winter season. Effective 15th November 2011, flights to the largest island in the former Dutch Antilles will leave from Dusseldorf each week, served by an Airbus A330-200. airberlin is the only German airline to offer non-stop flights on the route.Outward flights will leave on Tuesdays at 13.30, arriving in Curaчao 10 hours and 35 minutes later. Each plane will be configured with 279 Economy Class and 24 Business Class seats. Return flights to Dusseldorf will arrive at their destination each Wednesday at 12.35.
