Domodedovo International Airport reports a 30% increase in overall passenger flow – 2004
East Line Group, the managing company of Moscow’s Domodedovo International Airport have announced that 12.067 million passengers passed through Domodedovo between January and December in 2004, increasing its passenger flow by 30% compared to the same period in 2003.
The passenger flow on international routes reached 6.34 million passengers, which is a 43.3% increase compared with the same period last year.
The highest growth in passenger numbers was recorded on routes to destinations such as Hurgada, Antalya, Sharm El Sheikh, London, Baku, Dubai and Dushanbe. Last year a total of 2.838 million travellers to these destinations went through Domodedovo Airport, which is nearly 1.5 times more than in the same period in 2003
Last year the number of domestic passengers at Domodedovo reached 5.727 million, an increase of 16% compared to the same January – December period in 2003.
In December 2004 Domodedovo’s monthly passenger traffic rose to 826,309, an 11.1 % increase over the figures reported for December 2003. A total of 409,501 passengers were served on international routes (including CIS countries) in December. This is an 18.3 percent increase compared with December 2003.
Domodedovo has maintained its leading position in Moscow, as the airport with the largest volume of passengers on domestic routes, amounting to 416.808 people, a 4.9 percent increase compared with December 2003.
